Most people, including myself have had a bowel issue, constipation, diarrhea or Irritable Bowel Syndrome at some point in their lives. Many people find it hard to talk about their bowel habits, and irregularities in this area. Irritable Bowel Syndrome affects simply thousands of people, and often when a person comes to see me it is their first time they have ever spoken about their bowel pattern, or non pattern; even if the issue has been going on for years.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is the most common gastrointestinal disorder. IBS is a functional intestinal disorder with chronic or recurrent gastrointestinal symptoms:
There are 3 groups based on symptoms:
– Abdominal pain with diarrhea
– Abdominal pain with constipation (spastic colitis)
– Abdominal pain with alternating diarrhoea and constipation
If you have IBS it is best to avoid all red meat, fried/battered fish, potatoes, onions, sweet corn, tinned vegetables, citrus fruits, wheat, rye, oats, barley, dairy products, coffee, alcohol, tap water, yeast, gravy, nuts, salad cream-dressings, vinegar (except perhaps apple cider) and chocolate.

The Emotional Cause
Fear and anxiety will drain the kidneys and may also restrict digestive function. Strictures in the intestine may result from years of holding onto extreme fear. With the tightening of the intestines in certain areas, the walls may become irritated and inflamed and diarrhea, constipation or erratic bowel motions may result. Do you find it hard to digest life? The Physical Problem
With this tightening of the intestinal walls, food has less space to move through and may start building up in the intestines, forming what is known as mucoid plaque. This putrefying environment now forms a wonderful breeding ground for parasites…thereby feeding, creating and causing the irritable bowel syndrome.
Australia leads the world in terms of food intolerances. One reason is because of the wheat here in Australia, it is very hard to digest. There is not one cure all for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Physical symptoms need to be addressed, your diet changed and emotions healed.
