Liver Flush Program

Miriam Young’s Liver Flush Detox Program takes three weeks to complete.

It uses diet, herbal medicine and natural medicine products to remove toxicity from the liver and gall bladder. You should time your detox so day 13 and 14 occur over the weekend, when you have time to rest.

About the Program

Please complete the Gentle Liver Detox Program before moving onto Miriam Young’s Liver Flush!  Also a period of Bowel Cleansing may also be necessary, particularly if you suffer from sluggish bowel motions, or constipation. See Colon Cleanse, Sluggish.

What does the Liver Flush involve?

Preparation Phase

(Days 1-12) – prepares the body for the liver flush and starts the process of removing toxins from the liver.

Power Phase (Days 13 & 14)

The most intensive part of Miriam Young’s Liver Flush Program. It involves half a day fasting (water and apple juice is fine) and a formulation of citrus juice and olive oil to ‘flush’ stones and grit from the liver.

Wind Down Phase (Days 15-21)

Allows the body time to adjust, maintaining a pure diet with herbal support to allow the body to gradually come out of the detoxification process.

Do not detox if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, ill or recovering from a major illness.  Contact your preferred health care professional if you are unsure as to whether to embark upon any detoxification program.

If you have sensitivity to alcohol, the Liver Plex should be poured into half a cup of boiling water and left for at least seven minutes before being taken.

Daily Requirements During The Liver Flush! Detox Program

In addition to following the specific instructions for during each phase of the detox, it is important to incorporate the following into your daily routine during the Liver Flush! Detox Program.

Drink plenty of purified or spring water – at least 1.5-2 litres per day;

Take cold showers at least three times a day. Cold water has the ability to pull away any negative emotions from our energy field (aura). Having cold showers whilst cleansing speeds up and assists in the clearing of any emotional crisis that you may experience. Cold showers need only last for 10-20 seconds. Make sure you have cold first, then warm if you want to, ending again with cold. Have as many cold showers as you need, eight per day is just fine! A swim in the sea or fresh water lake is just as powerful.

Gentle daily exercise such as a small amount of walking, to encourage peristalsis and enhance the cleansing process. It is also beneficial to practice Qi Gong, Tai Qi or a gentle form of yoga.

Try to be in nature for at least half-an-hour per day. Sit quietly and observe any emotions or feelings that this detox is bringing up for you.

Skin brushing also helps with detoxification and promotes circulation.

Essential Products

Also: Available from your local supermarket or health food store

  • Apple Juice: 6 litres of packaged organic (eg in a glass bottle)
  • Olive oil: 120ml organic, extra virgin, cold pressed
  • Medium fresh grapefruit – pink is best if it is available (enough to squeeze 60ml)
  • Medium fresh orange (enough to squeeze 60ml)
  • Medium fresh lemon (enough to squeeze 60ml)
  • You will also need a container with a lid or a blender to mix liver flush drink.

What does the liver flush involve?

Morning

  1. On rising, drink two glasses of purified water straight down
  2. Take 10mls of Fulhealth Industries Colloidal Minerals with 20mls of Colloidal Selenium straight, or in water/natural juice.
  3. Wait 10 minutes (take a cold shower)
  4. Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls of Turmeric together in water or apple juice
    *Take the Liver Flush Drink straight after your herbs (days 8-12 only)
  5. Wait one hour, (or at least ½ hr)
  6. Eat breakfast
  7. Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls of Turmeric together in apple Juice or water
  8. Eat lunch

Evening

  1. Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5 mils Turmeric in apple Juice or water.
  2. Eat dinner
  3. Take 2-4 tablets of Oxy-Powder just before you go to bed.
  4. Drink one glass of water.

The liver flush drink should be prepared each morning on days 8-12 only.

This Liver Flush should be taken each morning on an empty stomach, during the preparation phase.

  • The quantity for one person is:
  • 200ml organic apple juice with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • 200ml spring water
  • 1 clove of fresh garlic (crush/chop before blending) – this is optional!
  • 1 tablespoon of organic extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger to match the garlic
  • Cayenne as desired (from one pinch to a teaspoon and there are no medals for being a hero!)

Liquidize all the ingredients, including *7.5ml of Liver Plex, until they form a well blended, smooth liquid. Transfer this to a glass and drink it slowly.

You may well find that there is a reaction in the liver and you may start to feel a little nauseous-this means it is working!

You should wait one hour before having any breakfast. (Or at least half an hour) If you feel headachy, this is because you are already detoxifying. It is important to drink plenty of pure water.

To Make Miriam Young’s Liver Flush! More Powerful

For each morning on days 8-12 (including day 13 on the next page), you can gradually increase the olive oil and lemon juice until by day 13 you would be taking 6 x tablespoons of olive oil and a whole lemon in the Liver Flush Drink. Pace yourself and don’t overdo it.

If on the third day you reach 3 tablespoons of olive oil with half a lemon and your body is telling you that that is enough, then that is perfect.

You are well prepared and the big flush is still to come!

Taking Oxy Powder

Oxy Powder is one of the key products you will take over the entire three weeks of Detox4LIfe’s Liver Flush!  Oxy Powder, along side the apple juice, softens the stones in the liver and gall bladder.

Oxy Powder should be taken just before going to bed. You will need to find your own personal dose that works best for you.

You have to find your own dose of Oxy-Powder by trial and error, no one can really advise you on this. Look for an increase in your peristaltic intestinal action, and in the amount of faecal matter that you eliminate, the consistency of which should be liquid to semi-liquid.

If you do not notice any difference in your intestinal behaviour, or the difference was not dramatic enough, gradually increase the dose of “Oxy-Powder”, one capsule at a time.

Your own dose can be anywhere between 2 and 10 capsules. Start with three capsules and increase your dose until you have 2-5 bowel movements the following day. People with a very sluggish and constipated bowel should start with 4 capsules of Oxy-Powder and build up gradually as far as 10 capsules.

If your “Oxy-Action” comes pretty close together in the morning, then that is perfect.

If you have an inflamed or irritable bowel, start with taking only 1 capsule of Oxy-Powder, building to 4-5 after the first three to four days (if appropriate).
Warning: Do not be tempted to increase the dose by more than one capsule at a time, unless you want to know what rocket propulsion feels like!

Once you have found your own ‘optimum dose’, stay on this every night before you go to bed for the remaining days of ‘the preparation stage’ as well as day 13 and 14.

Apple Juice

The apple juice has a strong cleansing effect and may cause bloated ness and even diarrhoea during the first few days.

(The apple juice, Miriam Young’s Liver Detox herbs and Oxy-Powder help the expansion of the bile ducts and soften the stones in preparation for their release.)

If this proves too uncomfortable, dilute the apple juice with purified water. This is in addition to your normal water intake. Eat normal meals.

Note: packaged apple juice, (preferably organic), although not normally recommended works best for the detox. (Such a large amount of freshly squeezed apple juice can cause immense bloating and diahorrea because of the high enzyme content.)

Place your one litre of bottled apple juice on your desk at work, this way you will remember to drink it throughout the day – but anytime is fine.

Days 13 and 14 are the most powerful part of the liver detox program. It is important to follow the directions given below.

The timing of the detox is essential for the success of the detox. This part of the detox needs to be done over a weekend, or a two-day break when you have time to rest. You should not work or go far from home during days 13 and 14.

It is preferable to do the detox either when the moon is full or when the moon is waning. Do not be concerned if it does not work out this way, you are still undergoing a very powerful detox. Avoid taking any other medicine, vitamins, or pills that are not absolutely necessary. If you are unsure talk to your preferred health care professional.

What can I eat during Power Phase?

On day 13 of preparing for the detox, eat a light breakfast such as cooked cereal, fruit or fruit juice (no milk, butter, yoghurt, cheese, bacon, eggs, etc). For lunch eat plain steamed vegetables and brown rice. Don’t eat or drink anything (except water and apple juice) after 2pm! You may juice fast/eat plain fruit for the entire day if you really want to go for it!

  1. 6.30am On rising, drink two glasses of purified water straight down

  3. WAIT 10 MINUTES (take a cold shower)
  4. 6.40am 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls of Turmeric Herbs in water or apple juice
  5. 7.00am Take the Liver Flush Drink straight after your herbs
  6. WAIT 1 HOUR
  7. 8.00am EAT A LIGHT BREAKFAST (OR JUST JUICE/FRUIT)
  8. 12.30pm Take 5mls of Liver Health herbs in water or apple Juice.
  9. 1.00pm EAT A LIGHT LUNCH (OR JUST JUICE/FRUIT)
  10. 2.00pm STOP EATING NOW!
  11. 9.45pm Prepare 125mls olive oil with 60ml each of lemon, orange and grapefruit juice
  12. 10.00pm TAKE YOUR OPTIMUM DOSE OF OXY-POWDER WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER THEN Stand by your bed and slowing drink the olive oil mixture. Lie down and stay still for 20 minutes while doing the liver visualisation.

Notes

Squeeze the grapefruit(s), lemon(s) and orange(s): you will need 180ml of juice and remove pulp. Use equal parts. Pour the juice and the 125ml of olive oil into the pint jar. Close the jar tightly and shake hard about twenty times, or until watery.

You want to drink this mixture at 10pm, but if you need to visit the bathroom, you may delay for 10 minutes.

Stand next to your bed (don’t sit) and drink the potion, if possible in one go or otherwise with a large plastic straw. You may use organic maple syrup to chase it down between sips. Don’t take more than 5 minutes.

When you lie down make sure the lights are turned off and lie flat on your back with your head up high on a pillow or two. Put your attention on your liver and, if you can, visualise the mixture moving the stones out of the numerous bile ducts in your liver.

Keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes! This gives the stones a chance to move along the bile ducts. There won’t be any pain because the Oxy-Powder and Miriam Young’s Liver Detox herbs will keep the bile duct valves wide open.

If at any time during the night, you feel the need to have a bowel movement, do so. Check if there are already small gallstones (pea green or tan coloured) floating in the toilet. You may feel nauseous during the night and early morning hours. This will pass as the morning progresses.

Liver time in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is between 1am and 3am. This is the most likely time you will wake and feel nauseous. In about 5% of people, there will be hot or cold flushing and/or some vomiting. If you do vomit in or around this time period, don’t panic, it is highly likely you have a very toxic liver and are undergoing a very successful detox. Stay with it. Many people do not wake at all during the night.

  11. 12.30pm Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls Turmeric in apple Juice.
  12. 1.00pm EAT LUNCH
  13. 6.00pm Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls Turmeric in apple Juice.
  14. 6.30pm EAT DINNER
  15. Before bed Take 2-4 tablets of Oxy-Powder JUST BEFORE you go to bed. Drink one glass of water.

Notes

As soon as you wake up, drink two glasses of pure water. If you feel sleepy, go back to bed. The timing for this day is not essential.

You do not need to take the Liver Flush Drink this morning.

After two hours you can drink freshly pressed fruit juice, preferably apple or orange juice. After another 30 minutes eat 1-2 pieces of fruit. One hour later you may eat your breakfast, however remember to take your 5mls Liver Health and 5mls Turmeric before you eat.

You will have a number of bowel movements in the form of diarrhoea, consisting of gallstones mixed first with food residue and then with only water.

Look for gallstones floating in the toilet (they float because they contain cholesterol). You will see mainly green ones of all sizes and shapes, some are pea-sized or smaller, and others are as big as 2-3 centimetres. There may be hundreds of stones coming out at once. Also watch out for tan coloured and white ones.

Some of the larger tan coloured stones may sink with the stool because they are calcified and contain heavier toxic substances and only small amounts of cholesterol. All the green stones are as soft as putty, thanks to the Liver Plex herbal formula, Oxy-Powder and apple juice.

You may also find a layer of white or tan coloured scum or foam floating in the toilet. The foam consists of millions of tiny white, sharp-edged cholesterol crystals, which can easily rupture small bile ducts; they are equally important to get rid of.

You may still eliminate stones within the following 2-3 days and sometimes even after 7 days. Try to make a rough estimate of how many stones you have eliminated. To permanently cure, recurring viral infections, back pain, outbursts of anger, allergies, menopausal complaints, PMT, migraines, or other health problems you need to remove at least a thousand stones.

It is not recommended that you undertake Miriam Young’s Liver Flush! Detox more often than once a month. You may notice a dramatic improvement after the first detox and the liver as whole will be greatly relieved and can begin to function more efficiently.

But within a few weeks the stones that were formed at the rear of the liver will travel forward towards the two main bile ducts that exit the liver. This may cause you to re-experience previous symptoms and you may think that your health problems have returned.

Once you have detoxed your liver several times and are symptom free, it is encouraged that you undertake Miriam Young’s Liver Flush! Detox once every eight to twelve months. Spring is the optimum season for cleansing the liver.

Each detox will further improve the function of the liver. Never detox when you are ill.

Some people, including myself, report not releasing any stones on their first one or two liver detox program. This does not mean you do not have any stones and please do not hand in your detox resignation!

There are several possible reasons for this.

  • The Liver Plex herbs and the Oxy-Powder have melted the stones at the front of the liver/gall bladder. Look out for green/white or yellow foam/froth in your bowel motions. And perhaps some ‘hundreds and thousands’.
  • You have released brown bile pigment, gravel and small stones only and these are heavy and sink – getting mixed up with faecal matter and therefore not visible.
  • You were not ready to let go – try an 11×22, emotional healing technique alongside your next liver detox – so that day 11 of your 11×22 coincides with day 13 of this liver detox.
  • You had an emotional release (detox) rather than a physical detox. This is a normal and a positive sign and also my own personal experience when I undertook my first liver flush. Typically this is anger and irritability, however anxiety may also be the result of a healing crisis.

Keep following the Detox For Life Diet as best as you can. Try not to ‘binge-out’ on junk food or eat red meat straightaway. Start with fruit and hulled millet or brown rice as well as well as steamed vegetables. Continue to take the Liver Health Herbal Formula and 5mls Turmeric until day 21 or until the herbs run out.

Take extra colloidal minerals if you feel the need, as minerals help to reduce cravings.

SCHEDULE FOR THE ‘WIND DOWN PHASE’

Morning

  1. Drink two glasses of purified water straight down
  2. Take 10mls of Colloidal Minerals straight with 20mls of Colloidal Selenium.
  3. WAIT 5 MINUTES (take a cold shower)
  4. Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls Turmeric in 1/3 glass of juice or water
  5. EAT BREAKFAST

Evening

  1. Take 5mls of Liver Health and 5mls Turmeric in 1/3 glass of juice or water
  2. EAT DINNER/SUPPER

You can continue to take any Liver Health that you have left over after day 21 of the detox.

Oxy-Powder may also still be taken every other night, if stones are coming out over an extended period of time, or your bowel motions are sluggish.

It is highly recommended, if not essential you have a Colon Hydrotherapy treatment on day 15 or 16 to assist in the removal of any toxic matter that is still being eliminated after the Power Stage of Miriam Young’s Liver Flush! Detox Program.

Together with herbal medicine and Oxy-Powder, Colonic Irrigation or Colon Hydrotherapy is the quickest and most effective way of removing toxic matter and mucoid plaque from the large intestine.

Colonics are a safe, painless, hygienic and very relaxing way of cleansing the entire length of the large intestine. Colonics help strengthen the muscles of the bowel and re-educate a lazy colon.

After you have fully completed Miriam Young’s liver flush detox program we recommend you wait for 4-8 weeks before attempting the program again.
